August afternoon

This is a painting of Nääs outside of Gothenburg. Beautiful fields, a lush greenery. I took the photo that I've been painting from in August this past summer. The fields were ripe, the greenery dark like cooked spinach, the sky velvety lilac purple and vanilla. The water calm and streaming. A moment of serenity. A classical Swedish landscape. A tribute to the soft light and muted tones of late summer.
